Taipei, April 13 (CNA) Former Kuomintang (KMT) Deputy Spokesperson Lai Yi-jen, who is seeking KMT nomination for Taipei City Councilor, and former KMT Spokesperson Hsiao Ching-yen, who is seeking KMT nomination for New Taipei City Councilor, were reported for controversial remarks. The KMT Disciplinary Committee announced today that Lai Yi-jen's conduct was blameworthy and, based on the circumstances, decided to issue a reprimand in accordance with Article 30, Paragraph 1, Subparagraph 1 of the Regulations on Disciplinary Actions for Party Members. For Hsiao Ching-yen, the committee stated that the facts of his disciplinary violating remarks were clear. The ad hoc committee, in accordance with Article 30, Paragraph 1, Subparagraph 2 of the Regulations on Disciplinary Actions for Party Members, approved the New Taipei City Disciplinary Committee's decision to suspend Hsiao Ching-yen for one year.
