Three people were injured and sent to the hospital. After questioning, the police referred her to prosecutors on charges of drug offenses and endangering public safety.
The Tainan City Fire Bureau received a report around 4 p.m. yesterday that a collision between a car and motorcycles occurred at the intersection of Minghsing Road and Zhonghua South Road in the South District. Paramedics transported a 30-year-old man, a 64-year-old man, and a 36-year-old woman to the hospital; all three were conscious.
Police investigation revealed that when Chiu was driving through the intersection, she sideswiped a car parked on the side of the road and then crashed into three motorcycles waiting at a red light. Chiu's urine tested positive for etomidate, and she was handled according to the law.
