TAIPEI (CNA) – Taipei City's Department of Budget, Accounting and Statistics (動產質借處), in response to Earth Day on April 22, is launching an auction event on "Taipei Xiwu Net" featuring exquisite furniture and famous brand bicycles, with 22 items each. For example, a 26-inch, 21-speed bicycle has a starting bid of 600 NTD, with bidding closing on April 22.

Taipei City's Department of Budget, Accounting and Statistics issued a press release today stating that as Earth Day approaches on April 22, to promote resource recycling and sustainable consumption, it is collaborating with the Taipei City Government's Department of Environmental Protection to hold a "Double 22" auction event on "Taipei Xiwu Net." This event features 22 pieces of recycled furniture and 22 famous brand bicycles.

The press release mentioned that to celebrate Earth Day on April 22, the "Double 22" event will be launched in the no-deposit bidding area of "Taipei Xiwu Net." For example, recycled furniture starting bids range from 200 NTD to 2500 NTD, and bicycles start from 500 NTD, with bidding closing at noon on April 22.

The Department of Budget, Accounting and Statistics stated that to strengthen the connection between smart cities and green consumption, it is collaborating with EasyCard. From April 15 to 30, if a bid payment of over 500 NTD is made on "Taipei Xiwu Net" using Easy Wallet or a linked bank account, one 50 NTD cashback coupon will be given, integrating the circular economy into people's daily lives.

The Department of Budget, Accounting and Statistics stated that the auction period and exhibition time are from April 15 to 22. The auction items will be displayed at the Environmental Protection Department's Neihu Exhibition Hall, open from 9 AM to 5 PM on Mondays and Saturdays, and from 10 AM on Sundays.

According to information on the "Taipei Xiwu Net" website, this platform provides an online auction platform for various levels of government agencies and schools nationwide to auction off scrapped public assets.
