Major News on US-Iran War

Central News

(CNA Washington, 16th, Comprehensive Foreign Dispatch) The U.S. Naval Forces Central Command has issued a new bulletin stating that under the US military's blockade of Iranian ports, vessels sanctioned by the US will now face boarding, inspection, and seizure.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the bulletin read: "In addition to enforcing the blockade, belligerents have the right to board and search all Iranian vessels, vessels sanctioned by the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and vessels suspected of carrying contraband."

The U.S. Naval Forces Central Command also noted: "These vessels, regardless of their location, may be boarded, searched, and seized."

The bulletin pointed out that contraband items include weapons, ammunition, combat aircraft, and military electronics, while petroleum products and lubricants are classified as conditional contraband.

The US, along with Israel, launched military operations against Iran on February 28, igniting war across the Middle East. Following mediation by Pakistan, all parties agreed to a temporary ceasefire starting April 8.

The US military then began implementing blockade measures from April 13, but only targeting ships entering and leaving Iranian ports. (Compiled by: Chen Yen-chun) 1150416
