Russian Invasion of Ukraine Highlight News
Central News Agency
(Central News Agency, Kyiv, 15th, Comprehensive Foreign Report) Ukraine announced today the introduction of a "robot assault" combat mode that integrates drones, ground robot systems, and infantry. The military has reclaimed large swaths of lost territory in the south through more than 100 attacks launched by ground robots on the frontline.
The military stated that through this new combat mode, not only have multiple Russian strongholds been successfully captured, but it has also achieved the world's first record of capturing enemy troops solely by robots without any infantry involvement.
According to an AFP report, a source from the NC-13 Company, which belongs to Ukraine's 3rd Assault Brigade and specializes in operating such combat machines, said: "There have been more than 100 such operations in total."
The source noted: "These operations include eliminating enemy personnel, destroying bunkers, command posts, and other enemy infrastructure. This is no longer a sporadic incident, but a systematic combat operation."
The source stated that these systems can replace traditional infantry assaults (which usually cause soldier casualties), while also detecting and striking targets and preventing enemy infiltration.
The source said: "In a complete robot assault operation, we have simultaneously deployed 5 to 6 suicide ground unmanned systems, as well as ground robot systems equipped with combat modules."
"This method effectively replaces an assault infantry squad, minimizing the risk to personnel."
"We have observed multiple times that the enemy mistakenly thought it was an infantry unit attacking, and therefore abandoned their positions."
Earlier this week, Zelenskyy stated that ground and aerial robots allowed Ukrainian forces to capture a Russian stronghold on the battlefield.
Ukraine's 3rd Assault Brigade stated in a statement today that the first such operation occurred in the summer of 2025.
According to the brigade, four unmanned ground vehicles (each carrying 30 kilograms of explosives) were dispatched to destroy a frontline Russian stronghold after two infantry attacks failed and resulted in casualties.
The brigade stated: "This is the first operation in the world to assault an enemy stronghold and capture enemies entirely by robots, without infantry participation." (Translated by Cheng Shih-yun) 1150416
