(CNA Reporter Chang Jung-hsiang, Tainan, 16th) The Tainan City Government has successfully secured over 35 million NTD in subsidies for the 2025 fiscal year to renovate elementary and junior high school baseball fields. The construction at six schools has recently been completed, effectively enhancing the safety and quality of sports spaces for both campuses and local communities.
The Tainan City Government Sports Bureau stated today that it secured a central subsidy of 35,528,000 NTD for the 2025 fiscal year to renovate baseball fields at six schools. This includes a new pitching and batting practice facility at Rende Junior High School, the Zhongxiao Baseball Field managed by Yongxin Elementary School, the Shanhua Elementary School Baseball Field, the Xiaobei A Baseball Field managed by Minde Junior High School, the Wanli Shenggong Baseball Field managed by Shenggong Elementary School, and the Jianxing Junior High School Baseball Field.
The renovation projects were planned according to the actual usage conditions and site characteristics of each school. The upgrades cover the reconstruction of infield and outfield grounds, drainage system improvements, optimization of player rest areas and spectator zones, renewal of fencing and protective facilities, replacement of lighting equipment, and repair of plumbing and electrical systems.
The Sports Bureau noted that through comprehensive evaluation and improvement, the safety and durability of the fields have been upgraded to meet the diverse needs of teaching, training, and competition. Issues such as water accumulation, uneven ground, and aging facilities were also included in the scope of improvements. Additionally, sunshade and ventilation facilities were added to the player rest areas, and the flow and spatial layout were optimized to make the fields more functional and safe.
Moving forward, the Sports Bureau will continue to assess the needs of schools at all levels and sports venues, seek both central and local resources, and gradually promote facility improvements. The goal is to create a safe, friendly, and high-quality sports environment, share premium sports spaces, and elevate the city's sports energy. (Editor: Lin Shu-hui) 1150415
