(CNA Reporter Huang Li-yun, Taipei, 16th) The Taiwan Green Grass Safety Education Association, an organization supporting cannabis decriminalization, will hold a rally and march in Zhongzheng District on the 18th. Taipei City police announced today that all lanes of Jinan Road Section 1 in both eastbound and westbound directions will be closed to traffic, and buses in the controlled area will be detoured accordingly.

The Zhongzheng First Precinct of the Taipei City Police Department stated in a press release today that it has approved the "Cannabis Decriminalization" rally and march to be held from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Saturday, the 18th, on sections of Jinan Road Section 1, Zhongshan South Road, and Park Road within its jurisdiction.

To maintain traffic order and safety during the event, the Zhongzheng First Precinct said it has planned traffic guidance and control duties. The gathering point is around the Legislative Yuan. Starting at 8:00 AM on the 18th, all lanes of Jinan Road Section 1 (from Zhongshan South Road to Zhenjiang Street) in both east and west directions will be closed to vehicles. It is expected that the venue will be cleared by 8:00 PM that night, after which it will be reopened to traffic (controls may be advanced or delayed depending on traffic conditions).

Meanwhile, departing at 4:20 PM that day, the march route will be: Jinan Road Section 1 (assemble and depart) → (turn left) the slow lane on the west side of Zhongshan South Road → (go straight) the outer ring road on the west side of Jingfumen Roundabout → (turn left) the pedestrian crossing on the north side of the intersection of Zhongshan South Road and Guiyang Street → (turn right) the sidewalk on the east side of Zhongshan South Road → (go straight) Liberty Square.

Following that: → (U-turn) the slow lane on the east side of Zhongshan South Road → (go straight) Jingfumen Roundabout → (turn left) Ketagalan Boulevard → (turn right) Park Road → (turn right) Qingdao West Road → (turn right) the slow lane on the west side of Zhongshan South Road → (turn left) Jinan Road Section 1 (disband after the march).

The Zhongzheng First Precinct stated that during this rally and march, the Taipei City Public Transportation Office will coordinate with bus operators to detour buses passing through the affected areas. To maintain traffic order and safety during the event, police will flexibly control the rally site and the route along the march, and may expand the surrounding traffic control area depending on on-site conditions and the number of participants.
