(CNA Reporter Yang Yao-ru, Taipei, 15th) The "2026 Thai Culture Festival" will debut in Taipei on the 24th. Thailand's representative to Taiwan, Narong Boonsatheanwong, stated today that this is the third year the event is being held. To commemorate the Thai Queen Mother this year, an AI interactive experience has been specially set up to allow the public to try on the national dress designed by her, hoping to promote Thailand-Taiwan exchange through Thai soft power.

The "2026 Thai Culture Festival" will be held from April 24 to 26 at Far Eastern Department Store A13. The Thailand Trade and Economic Office held a press conference this afternoon. Coinciding with the Thai Songkran Festival, Narong Boonsatheanwong personally demonstrated the Buddha bathing ceremony to send blessings to the Taiwanese people.

During his speech, Narong stated that this is the third year organizing the "Thai Culture Festival." He takes this opportunity to bring blessings from Thailand to Taiwan and hopes that the international community can better understand Thai soft power through this event. With the theme "Creative Living, Creative Life" this year, the Creative Economy Agency of Thailand has selected 10 Thai brands to exhibit in Taiwan, and there will also be food and snack stalls on site.

Narong specifically mentioned that to commemorate the Thai Queen Mother who passed away last year, her achievements will be presented through an exhibition of traditional Thai royal attire. The public can use an AI interactive experience to try on the national dress she designed, which has been listed as a Thai national cultural asset and a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage.

Narong pointed out that Thai and Taiwanese cultures are similar; even the English names Thailand and Taiwan often confuse foreigners. He hopes the "Thai Culture Festival" will bring bilateral exchanges and friendship closer.

Narong mentioned that the "Thai Culture Festival" has invited Thai dance troupes and artists to perform in Taiwan, including Sbun-nga, The Ping Reverie dance troupe, and the boy band Lad, along with 13 T-Pop artists interacting with fans. The opening ceremony for the "Thai Culture Festival" will be held on the 25th, during which three lucky attendees will be drawn to receive round-trip flights between Taipei and Bangkok.
