The Taichung City Police Department's Criminal Investigation Corps announced a drug bust involving two men. An investigation, initiated in September of the previous year based on intelligence, targeted a 58-year-old man surnamed Mo and a 48-year-old man surnamed Liao for involvement in drug manufacturing, sales, and distribution. The two men's residences, located 200 meters apart, were used as a manufacturing site and a direct sales 'storefront' for drug transactions. The suspects utilized low-profile transport methods such as walking and electric bicycles to evade police detection. A raid led to the seizure of 6 bags of heroin, 3 bags of amphetamine, 3 etomidate vape cartridges, drug packaging tools, NT$10,100 in cash, 8 handgun bullets, and 3 mobile phones. The Nantou District Prosecutors Office indicted both individuals in February 2026 for violations of the Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act and the Controlling Guns, Ammunition and Knives Act.
