Man sentenced to life imprisonment for heroin overdose death and dumping body at Second Nuclear Power Plant

A male floating body was discovered in the water storage pool of the Second Nuclear Power Plant on the evening of April 17, 2024, identified as a man surnamed Zhong. Investigations by prosecutors and police revealed that Wang Jiarong, dissatisfied with Zhong's alleged misappropriation of drugs and money, injected Zhong with heroin on April 16, 2024, leading to his death. Wang then instructed others to transport and abandon Zhong's body in the nuclear plant's water pool early on April 17, 2024. The High Court, revoking parts of the initial murder conviction due to misapplication of law and differing findings on motive, ultimately sentenced Wang Jiarong to life imprisonment and lifelong deprivation of civil rights for illegally causing a person to use a Class 1 drug resulting in death, and 1 year 2 months for abandonment of a corpse.
