Kaohsiung Sanmin Sports Center Main Stadium Completed, Operations Expected Mid-2026

The main stadium of the Kaohsiung "Sanmin Sports Center," situated on the former Yangming Skating Rink site, has been completed. The Kaohsiung City Government Sports Development Bureau will subsequently coordinate with an entrusted operating vendor to move in, conduct interior decoration, and handle related preparations before opening. Operations are expected to begin in mid-2026 (ROC Year 115). The "Kaohsiung City Sanmin District All-Citizen Sports Hall Construction Project" was commissioned by the City Government Sports Development Bureau to the City Government Water Resources Bureau for construction. The site was rebuilt after demolishing existing structures, incorporating green building principles and featuring a modern minimalist exterior. The Water Resources Bureau announced today that the main stadium of the "Sanmin Sports Center" is completed. The Sports Development Bureau will take over, with the operating vendor moving in to carry out interior decoration and pre-opening preparations. Operations are projected to start in mid-2026. The center's total project cost is approximately NT$760 million. It is designed as a sports center with one basement level and three above-ground levels, totaling nearly 8708 square meters of floor area. Core spaces include a swimming pool, sauna, SPA pool, and multi-purpose ball courts. The building's exterior features an orange visual accent, a dynamic staggered volume, and a wavy roof design with enhanced night lighting.
