TAICHUNG, Taiwan (CNA) -- The Taichung City Tourism Bureau has partnered with Korean Air (JIN AIR) and several major Korean travel agencies for a familiarization tour in central Taiwan. The trip aims to exchange views with Korean industry players on tourism trends, product packaging, and route development, thereby expanding the Korean tourism market and strengthening the international tourism competitiveness of central Taiwan.

Chen Mei-hsiu, Director of the Tourism Bureau, stated in a press release today that Taichung's international tourism promotion has shifted from single-point promotion to strategic market operation. By leveraging familiarization tours to drive product development and visitor mechanisms, the city is gradually expanding into diverse international markets.

Chen pointed out that the familiarization group comprises product managers and sales executives from major Korean travel agencies such as Hana Tour, Mode Tour, Lotte Tour, Kyowon Tour, and Very Good Tour. These individuals are key decision-makers in product planning and sales within the Korean tourism market. They are accompanied by the sales manager from Jin Air's Busan branch. This visit will significantly influence the listing of central Taiwan tourism products and the scale of visitor numbers, making it highly significant.

The 4-day, 3-night familiarization itinerary connects key tourism resources in Taichung and the central region, including Alishan, Sun Moon Lake, Fengjia Night Market, Rainbow Village, Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village, Gaomei Wetlands, and Miyahara. It fully showcases the diverse and internationally attractive tourism characteristics of central Taiwan, from urban landscapes and cultural heritage to natural scenery.

The Tourism Bureau emphasized that South Korea is one of Taichung's important international source markets. The bureau will continue to deepen cross-border cooperation through airlines, travel agents, and local resources to promote the diverse development of central Taiwan's tourism products, attracting more international travelers to Taichung and even the wider central Taiwan region, thereby driving the overall development of the tourism industry.
