Taipei Metro released information stating that in response to International Pet Day, four "Dog-Friendly Trains" were launched on the Tamsui-Xinyi Line starting at 1:00 PM on the 11th. Departing from Xiangshan and Tamsui stations, the trains made a total of 16 round trips. After service concluded in the evening, the trains were sent back to the Beitou Depot for cleaning and disinfection operations.

Taipei Metro said the process included wiping down carriage seats, seatbacks, railings, handrails, and partitions with diluted bleach; completely replacing the carriage air conditioning filters; and commissioning vendors to perform full-carriage aerosol disinfection. Disinfection operations were strengthened for air conditioning supply and return vents, ceilings, lampshades, inner wall crevices, floors, and gangway connections.

Taipei Metro reminded passengers that medium and small pet strollers are treated as regular carry-on baggage and do not require additional ticket purchases. For large pet strollers, passengers must purchase an integrated "Pet Stroller Single Journey Ticket" during allowed travel times and at designated stations. When carrying pets on the MRT, they must be fully enclosed, elevators should be used, and large pet strollers must be parked in the first or last carriage. Related measures can be found on the "Taking Pet Strollers on the MRT" website.
