The Pingtung County Wang Chuan Cultural Museum's brand new special exhibition, 'Between Thoughts,' opened today. Early in the morning, a procession from the Donggang Dongfu Shrine City God Temple departed for the museum. Upon arrival, the 'Twenty-Four Divisions' lords entered the museum first for an inspection, seemingly recreating scenes from the King Boat Festival and overseeing the venue.

County Magistrate Chou Chun-mi attended the event and stated in a media interview that Donggang possesses the 'Seven Corner' culture, and this is the third exhibition since the museum's opening, with each being spectacular. This exhibition focuses on the City God worshipped by the Xia-tou Corner. The City God manages the order of the underworld and has twenty-four divisions handling various underworld affairs. Through the exhibition, the public is guided to think about life choices, which she believes will bring different levels of understanding and reflection.

Curator Fang Chih-hung noted that Donggang's religious culture is not abstract but accumulated in daily life over a long period. From the King Boat Festival to everyday behaviors, faith constantly influences people's choices. Through spatial and narrative design, viewers can move from cultural understanding to inner feeling, initiating self-dialogue and reflection.

Chen Kun-fu, Chairman of the Xia-tou Corner Palanquin Promotion Association, mentioned that the City God belief in Xia-tou Corner is profound. In the early days, the City God's birthday was as lively as a 'mini King Boat Festival,' with households hosting friends and relatives. Since 1952, following the City God's instructions, local youths have dressed up as the 'Twenty-Four Divisions' to participate in the King Boat Festival, which has become a local honor and continues to this day. The performance troupe culture, previously seen mostly at temple fairs or the King Boat Festival, has now entered the exhibition hall. He is pleased to see the transmission and promotion of the City God belief through this exhibition, guiding people toward kindness.

The Pingtung County Government Cultural Affairs Department pointed out that the county government, together with the Dongfu Shrine City God Temple and local groups in Xia-tou Corner, co-organized the exhibition. The overall flow is designed with an 'outside-in' theme, where audiences face choices from the entrance, symbolizing value judgments in daily life. As they progress, they gradually understand the cultural context of Donggang's City God belief and see how faith is practiced and continued in life through character stories and local narratives. The exhibition runs from today until July 19.

The Cultural Affairs Department explained that the Twenty-Four Divisions represent the City God's administrative system, symbolizing underworld judgment and human order. The system originates from the ancient six ministries—Personnel, Revenue, Rites, War, Justice, and Works—each further divided into four divisions. The Twenty-Four Divisions of the Dongfu Shrine City God Temple developed into their current troupe scale through participation in the Donggang King Boat Festival and continue to participate in the triennial festival, becoming deeply rooted in local memory.
