The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Poland issued a press release stating that the 'Poland-Taiwan Parliamentary Group' issued a joint statement, highlighting that Poland and Taiwan are like-minded partners sharing values of freedom, democracy, and human rights. In recent years, cooperation between the two sides has steadily advanced in various fields such as economy, trade, investment, technology, justice, and culture. The group supports the establishment of a partnership between the two sides to promote mutually beneficial cooperation in areas like semiconductors, high-tech, artificial intelligence, information security, and submarine cable security, in order to build more resilient global democratic supply chains.

The office quoted the joint statement, noting that following the Russia-Ukraine war, the situation in Eurasia is highly interconnected. Given that international leaders have repeatedly emphasized the importance of Taiwan Strait peace in recent years, the statement urges the Polish government to support a peaceful resolution of cross-strait issues and oppose any attempts to unilaterally change the status quo by force.

The office stated that this statement echoes a European Parliament resolution, which points out China's misinterpretation of UN General Assembly Resolution 2758. The statement calls on the Polish government to support Taiwan's meaningful participation in the World Health Organization (WHO), the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL).

Liu Yong-jian, Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Poland, expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the friends in the Polish parliament for their support of Taiwan's international participation and peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.

The office stated that the 'Poland-Taiwan Parliamentary Group' is currently the largest bilateral friendship group in the Polish parliament. The joint statement was signed and released by Krzysztof Truskolaski, chairman of the 'Poland-Taiwan Parliamentary Group', on behalf of 115 bipartisan members of parliament.
