The Owl Family Park, located in the Jinfeng Living Park, is a semi-indoor recreational space featuring slides, climbing structures, and hopscotch facilities. The current project includes the renovation of the children's play surface and surrounding walls. With an engineering budget of approximately NT$3.6 million self-funded by the City Office, the park was closed for construction early this year.

Mayor Wei Chia-yen stated during his inspection today that the Owl Family Park is repaving 2.5-cm thick artificial turf and installing plastic wood fences to improve safety. A Japanese designer was also invited to design the paint for the walls and main building, creating a themed parent-child space.

In addition, the Hualien City Office has secured central funding from the Hua-Tung Fund to implement improvement plans for Giraffe Park, Guofu 10th Street, and Daben Park. The total budget is NT$28 million, and construction is ongoing.

After inspecting the construction progress at Giraffe Park, Wei Chia-yen said that the newly installed sunshade nets have been completed. Subsequent work will include leveling the turf, replanting hedges, and building hand-washing and foot-washing facilities. Hedges and plastic wood fences will also be set up to separate the driveway space and prevent children from wandering into traffic.

Wei Chia-yen noted that both the Owl Family Park and Giraffe Park have high utilization rates. The construction progress is currently ahead of schedule. Once completed, the parks will be inspected, cleaned, and disinfected as quickly as possible. They are expected to reopen before the summer vacation, providing children with a safer play space.
