The Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) today released business information for credit cards, cash cards, and electronic payment institutions for February. FSC statistics show that as of the end of February this year, there are a total of 10 specialized electronic payment institutions and 20 institutions that also offer electronic payment services (including banks and Chunghwa Post Co., Ltd.).

LINE Pay's subsidiary, Lien Chia Electronic Payment Co., Ltd. (LINE Pay Money), launched on December 3 last year, and its performance has been a point of public interest. Wang Yun-chung, Deputy Director of the Banking Bureau of the FSC, pointed out that as of February, the total number of account users for electronic payments was approximately 39.47 million, an increase of 780,000 from the previous month. This growth is mainly driven by LINE Pay Money's ongoing promotional activities, which continue to boost registration numbers.

Among them, FSC statistics show that Jkopay (街口支付) continues to rank first with 7.2 million users, followed by iPASS (一卡通票證) with 7.19 million users, Allpay (全支付) with 7.09 million users in third place, and EasyCard (悠遊卡) with 4.06 million users in fourth place. LINE Pay Money surpassed E.SUN Bank (玉山銀行) to take fifth place with 3.5 million users, increasing by over 510,000 users in a single month; E.SUN Bank is sixth with 3.39 million users.

Furthermore, the amount of actual transaction funds collected and paid by agents in February was approximately NT$23.42 billion, an increase of about NT$400 million from the previous month. Observing the changes in collected and paid transaction amounts by operators, the top 5 players in February also saw a shuffle. LINE Pay Money surged to first place with NT$6.6 billion, followed by Allpay with NT$5.1 billion, Jkopay with NT$4.5 billion, E.SUN Bank with NT$2.1 billion, and iPASS with NT$1.5 billion in fifth place.

Wang Yun-chung explained that due to LINE Pay Money's consumption reward activities, payment amounts also increased, driving LINE Pay Money's monthly collected and paid transaction amount up by NT$1.8 billion.

According to FSC credit card statistics, as of the end of February this year, there were a total of 32 credit card issuing institutions, with a total circulation of approximately 59.55 million cards, an increase of 50,000 cards from the previous month. The total number of valid cards was about 40.07 million, a decrease of 40,000 cards. The monthly spending amount was about NT$371.7 billion, a decrease of about NT$56.4 billion from the previous month. Wang Yun-chung explained that due to fewer days in February and the delayed payment of relevant deductions for the 228 holiday to early March, the credit card spending amount in February was NT$371.7 billion, a decrease of NT$56.4 billion from the previous month and 5.97% year-on-year, but still the second-highest for the same period in history, second only to NT$395.3 billion in February 2025. As for the cumulative credit card spending amount for the first two months of this year, it reached NT$799.8 billion, continuing to set a new historical high for the same period, an increase of 8.98% year-on-year. Observing the data for each issuing bank in February, CTBC Bank (中信銀) led with 94,000 cards, followed by E.SUN Bank (玉山銀) with 40,000 cards, and third to fifth place were Cathay United Bank (國泰世華銀) with 34,400 cards, Taishin Bank (台新銀) with 34,300 cards, and First Commercial Bank (北富銀) with 26,000 cards.
