Hsinchu City Promotes Old City Revitalization, Linking Events to Boost Business District

Hsinchu City Government today held a press conference for "Old City Renewal, Tracing Time Walks." Mayor Gao Hongan stated that Hsinchu's old city possesses a profound cultural heritage, with districts like the Central Shopping Mall and Dongmen Market bearing the memories of urban development and shaping local life. Gao Hongan mentioned that the Central Shopping Mall, in particular, bears witness to the early history of the textile industry and is an important cultural node of the old city. The city government has continuously guided citizens to explore the old city, rediscover its culture, and gradually attract people and development through event planning, spatial reuse, and environmental optimization in recent years. Gao Hongan stated that the city government is promoting the "Old City Business District Revitalization and Revival Plan," assisting local businesses in improving their operational strength and competitiveness through strategies such as store guidance, spatial improvement, and digital transformation. It also combines markets and festive activities to foster mutual development between commercial vitality and urban culture. The Hsinchu City Industrial Development and Investment Promotion Committee pointed out that the "Old City Renewal, Tracing Time Walks" stamp rally event has commenced and invites the public to participate by visiting alleys and collecting stamps to redeem limited-edition souvenirs.
