Taiwanese-American basketball prospect Adam Hinton has officially joined the Kaohsiung Aquas after being selected as the #1 overall pick in the TPBL draft, launching his professional career in Taiwan. He expressed deep gratitude for his parents' sacrifices and shared his plans to pursue a path in medicine in the future.

At 23, Hinton, along with his younger brother Robert Hinton, became a sensation in Taiwan after participating in the Jones Cup in 2023. Their contribution to the national team's run to the top 8 in the Asia Cup further galvanized fan support. Now, Hinton is determined to help the Aquas win a championship.

Having played basketball since age 2, Hinton shared in an interview with CNA that his parents were the most influential force in his journey, citing their constant presence and logistical support throughout his growth. "They made enormous efforts just to be there in person to support us," he remarked.

A graduate of Cornell University, Hinton originally intended to pursue a medical career. However, he is currently focused on his basketball career, planning to transition to medicine after retiring from professional play. "I believe these two goals can be balanced, and I am preparing for the next chapter of my life," he stated.
