US-Iran War Key News
Central Message
(Central News Agency, Dubai, 15th -综合 international wire reports) US military officials announced in the early hours today that they have concluded a new wave of airstrikes against Iran. These recent attacks have, for the first time in days, shaken parts of northern Iran.
According to an Associated Press report, Iranian state media reported explosions near the capital Tehran for the first time during recent clashes over control of the Strait of Hormuz. The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow outlet of the Persian Gulf, through which approximately one-fifth of the world's oil and natural gas passes during peacetime.
The report indicates that US attacks targeted areas including Semnan Province in Iran, a center for ballistic missile production and the country's space program. There are currently no reports on casualties or damage caused by these strikes.
Iranian news agencies IRNA and Mehr reported explosions in parts of western Lorestan Province and northern Semnan Province.
Following the US reimposition of a naval blockade and intensified airstrikes in retaliation for Tehran's attacks on vessels attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, Iran launched attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait.
Iranian officials stated that a US airstrike hit a military camp in Iran, killing at least seven soldiers and injuring hundreds across the country.
The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) reported that, following new US strikes, Iran launched drone attacks on US military facilities inside Jordan.
IRIB stated: 'The Islamic Republic of Iran Army announces... in response to the enemy's aggressive actions, suicide (kamikaze) drones have been used to target US military communications systems and fuel storage facilities in Jordan.' (Translation: Chen Yuting) 1150716
