(CNA, reporter Cao Yayan, New Taipei, July 3) A stabbing incident occurred this afternoon at Wanjiafu in Linkou, New Taipei, where a man surnamed Chang, allegedly unstable due to alcohol, stabbed an Indian national in the arm. The injured man was sent to the hospital for treatment and is fortunately out of danger. Police arrived at the scene and immediately apprehended the suspect, Chang. Preliminary investigations suggest the two men did not know each other, and the motive is still under investigation.

The Linkou Precinct of the New Taipei City Police Department received a report around 5 PM today that someone had used a sharp knife to injure another person in front of the B1 entrance of the Wanjiafu shopping mall in Linkou. Upon investigation, it was found that a man surnamed Chang, in his 30s, had slashed the left arm of an Indian national with a knife. The stab wound was approximately 5 centimeters long. Fortunately, the injured man was conscious and was rushed to Chang Gung Memorial Hospital for bandaging and treatment.

At the time of the incident, mall employees worked together to subdue Chang. Police arrived at the scene and immediately arrested him as a suspect caught in the act, taking him to the police station for questioning.

Police preliminary investigations indicate that Chang and the injured man did not know each other. Chang's blood alcohol content was 0.67 milligrams per liter, and he is suspected of being unstable due to alcohol and acting erratically. He stated he does not remember the events after the incident.
