(Central News Agency, Reporter Wu Xin-yun, Taipei, July 3) To help young people navigate their careers after graduation, the Ministry of Labor stated today that there are five Youth Career Development Centers nationwide that can assist young people in finding career directions. Currently, the "Youth Employment Support Program" offers job search allowances and employment incentives, with over 10,000 people having received them.
During a routine business report by the Ministry of Labor, Huang Qiao-ting, Director of the Employment Services Division of the Workforce Development Agency, stated that with the arrival of graduation season, many young people are preparing to transition from campus to the workplace. However, according to a survey by the Ministry of Labor, the most significant difficulty faced by non-student young workers in their initial job search is "not knowing what kind of work they are suited for," accounting for 24.7%, indicating that many young people do not know how to find a suitable direction when seeking employment.
Huang Qiao-ting explained that to help young people clarify their career goals, the Ministry of Labor has established five Youth Career Development Centers across the country, offering services such as resume reviews, mock interviews, career counseling, and company visits, to assist young people in their job search through in-person services.
In addition to in-person services, Huang Qiao-ting mentioned that the Ministry of Labor has also developed various online career exploration tools, including "Jobooks Work Encyclopedia," which provides occupational information, job descriptions, and salary data, as well as career assessment tools like the "Work Temperament Test," to help young people understand their interests and explore future career development directions.
Ah Jie, who graduated from the Electrical Engineering department of a university in Taoyuan this year, also experienced pre-graduation confusion. Although he had a professional background, he was unsure of his most suitable development direction when faced with diverse industry choices. Later, he participated in career counseling, resume reviews, and mock interviews offered by the "Jia Ta Le Learning Theme Pavilion" at the Youth Career Development Center. Within a short period, he received interview invitations from several technology companies and officially obtained a job offer in May.
To prevent young people's job searches from being affected by tariff policies, the Ministry of Labor launched the "Youth Employment Support Program" in September last year. By increasing job search allowances and employment incentives, it aims to strengthen assistance for first-time job seekers aged 15 to 29 who are not yet employed after graduation. Eligible individuals can receive a job search allowance upon completing job search preparations, and can later receive an employment incentive bonus for stable employment.
Huang Qiao-ting pointed out that according to statistics, as of the end of June this year, 12,000 people had registered for the program, with over 10,000 receiving job search allowances and 6,000 receiving employment incentives. Eligible individuals can register to participate.
Huang Qiao-ting also announced that the Ministry of Labor's last major job fair of the year will be held tomorrow at the Taichung World Trade Center Hall 2, inviting 123 companies and offering over 6,000 job opportunities. Young people are welcome to seize this opportunity and participate enthusiastically. (Editor: Guan Zhong-wei) 1150703
