(Central News Agency, reporter Chang Yi-lien, Kaohsiung, July 2nd) A couple, Mr. and Mrs. Chao, recognizing the importance and difficulty of elder care, today donated a "Welfare Service Vehicle for the Elderly" to the Evergreen Center of the Kaohsiung City Social Affairs Bureau. They hope this donation will support elderly welfare services and continue the spirit of their mother's care for others.

The Kaohsiung City Social Affairs Bureau stated that Chao Shun-hao and his wife Chen Hui-min have long donated to social welfare organizations. Chen Hui-min, in particular, often brought children to perform for charity at social welfare and care institutions, accompanying the elderly and service recipients with her singing, conveying care and hope.

The Social Affairs Bureau mentioned that this donation of a service vehicle originated from Chen Hui-min's wish to care for the elderly, and Chao Shun-hao's years of caring for his mother, which made him realize the importance and difficulty of elder care. Therefore, the couple decided to donate a new car purchased with their mother's遺留資產 (inherited assets), transforming their mother's love and care into practical action.

Kaohsiung City Social Affairs Bureau Director Tsai Wan-fen expressed gratitude for the couple's kind act, which supports elderly welfare services with practical action. She noted that they have transformed the spirit of filial piety and gratitude into great love for giving back to society, hoping that this donation will attract more private resources to participate in public welfare, jointly support services for the elderly living alone, and work together to build a community care safety net.

Tsai Wan-fen added that Kaohsiung has been promoting the "Expanded Visiting Services for the Elderly Living Alone" since this year, proactively visiting elderly individuals living alone in Kaohsiung to identify their needs in areas such as daily care, health and safety, welfare resources, and social support, aiming to build a more comprehensive community care network.

Tsai Wan-fen stated that the donated Welfare Service Vehicle for the Elderly will serve as a support system for promoting care for the elderly living alone and providing timely assistance, enhancing service efficiency and accessibility, and ensuring that more elderly individuals living alone who need help can receive care and support.
