(CNA reporter Hung Su-chin, Taipei, July 2) Band Sunset Rollercoaster recently won the Golden Melody Award for Best Band. They recently participated in a light sculpture project created by award-winning artistic director Chen Yi-chieh, music director Wang Hsi-wen, and dancer Liu Yi-ling, celebrating the first anniversary of the New Taipei City Museum of Art and the upcoming opening of the MRT San-Ying Line.

"Haishan Night Walk, New Taipei City Museum of Art Architectural Light Sculpture and Audiovisual Environmental Theater" is a large-scale cross-disciplinary performance combining four-sided architectural light sculptures with a 360-degree audiovisual environmental theater. According to a press release, Wang Hsi-wen remixed and incorporated Elephant Gym's "Game" and Sunset Rollercoaster's collaboration with HYUKOH, "Antenna," into the music design, which also connected over 3,000 citizens across generations in a collaborative creation.

Elephant Gym and Sunset Rollercoaster, participating in a large-scale architectural light sculpture performance for the first time, could not hide their excitement. They stated they never imagined their music would have the opportunity to be paired with such a large-scale light sculpture project, and revealed they would definitely find time to visit the site in person to experience the new sensation of music and light intersecting.

Sunset Rollercoaster shared that they had previously collaborated with Wang Hsi-wen on concerts and were deeply impressed by his working style, praising him as "meticulous, sensitive, and a true detail king." They also revealed that Wang Hsi-wen is a big fan of anime and excels at extracting music-related details from anime works, believing that this audiovisual performance will bring a refreshing immersive experience to the audience.

Elephant Gym also shared that they had collaborated with Wang Hsi-wen on a musical prior to this. At that time, they often had in-depth discussions about song styles, timbres, and even adjustments of a semitone. While there were frequent disputes initially, it also made them deeply realize that aesthetic clashes are an inevitable part of cross-disciplinary collaboration. (Edited by Chang Ming-kun) 1150702
