(CNA, Kaohsiung, July 2nd) Thai film star Judmonlamphai is currently filming a new drama directed by Peter Ho in Kaohsiung alongside actors Darren Chen and Yu-Ning Tsao. Judmonlamphai admitted that intimate scenes and adapting to script changes were challenging. During filming, she would jokingly complain to Peter Ho in Chinese, "You gotta be kidding me, I'm Thai!"
Judmonlamphai, who rose to fame with the film "Bad Genius," is in Taiwan filming Peter Ho's new drama "The Prophecy of My Heartbeat." In the drama, she is involved in a complex romantic entanglement with Darren Chen and Yu-Ning Tsao. Today, Judmonlamphai, Darren Chen, Yu-Ning Tsao, Hsiao-Hsuan Chen, Wu Tzu-fei, Singaporean actors Christopher Lee and Guo Liang, and director Peter Ho attended a media visit event, where the main cast shared interesting anecdotes from filming.
Judmonlamphai plays the mother of Hsiao-Hsuan Chen in the drama, and they have several scenes involving conflict and opposition. However, after their arguments, they would embrace and reconcile. Hsiao-Hsuan Chen said they felt like they had known each other for a long time, and Judmonlamphai added that Hsiao-Hsuan Chen is like a mother and a friend to her, making filming very smooth.
Judmonlamphai's Chinese proficiency has significantly improved during her time filming in Taiwan. She stated that the most difficult aspect of filming in Taiwan was Peter Ho's last-minute script changes, which sometimes required her to completely relearn lines she had memorized the night before. In such situations, Judmonlamphai would jokingly complain, "You gotta be kidding me, I'm Thai!" Peter Ho praised Judmonlamphai's Chinese abilities, admitting that this was a point of concern for him before filming. "Judmonlamphai's Chinese is excellent. Actually, I wrote the script myself, so I often contradict myself, but for the sake of the drama, some changes are necessary," he said.
In addition to adapting to script changes, Judmonlamphai also had to overcome intimate scenes with Darren Chen and Yu-Ning Tsao. She admitted that intimate scenes were not easy for her, but thankfully, she had the help of an intimacy coordinator and her co-stars. Darren Chen also praised Judmonlamphai for her thoughtfulness, noting that she would write encouraging notes, which he found very heartwarming.
Singaporean actors Christopher Lee and Guo Liang both enjoy filming in Taiwan, finding the workforce abundant and the division of labor meticulous. They consider filming in Taiwan a very fortunate experience. Christopher Lee even learned how to chew gum in a down-to-earth manner for a scene, although the crew ultimately cut the segment. Nevertheless, Christopher Lee felt that this effort helped him better integrate into Taiwan. (Editor: Li Heng-shan) 1150702
