(Central News Agency, Reporter Kao Hua-chien, Taipei, July 1st) Administrative Vice Minister Yang Jen-ni is accused of workplace bullying and has been dismissed. The Control Yuan stated today that it opened an investigation on April 22nd of this year and is continuing its inquiry. The Control Yuan will clarify the facts as soon as possible to uphold public trust and honor the deceased.
It is reported that the late Yen Hui-hsin, former deputy chief trade negotiator for the Executive Yuan's Office of Trade Negotiations, allegedly experienced workplace ostracism before her death. On June 26th, the Executive Yuan released the findings of an external committee investigation, which stated that Administrative Vice Minister and Chief Trade Negotiator Yang Jen-ni of the Executive Yuan's Office of Trade Negotiations repeatedly negated Yen Hui-hsin's opinions in an offensive and negative manner, interrupting her remarks, thereby creating an offensively unfriendly work environment. This caused Yen Hui-hsin immense psychological stress and constituted workplace bullying. Yang Jen-ni, however, issued two statements denying the bullying.
The Control Yuan stated in a press release this evening that regarding the public's attention to the alleged workplace bullying incident at the Executive Yuan's Office of Trade Negotiations, an investigation was opened on April 22nd of this year and is currently ongoing. The Control Yuan will clarify the facts as soon as possible to uphold public trust and honor the deceased.
The Presidential Office issued a presidential decree today stating that Yang Jen-ni has been dismissed, effective today. (Editor: Lin Ke-lun) 1150701
