(Central News Agency, reporter Wang Chaoyu, Keelung, July 1) Keelung City is set to host a "Summer Cinema" event. Yesterday, a vendor projected a simplified Chinese subtitled animation of "Haikyuu!!" onto the cultural center's exterior wall, leading netizens to question if it was pirated. The city government stated that the vendor made an operational oversight during testing and has been instructed by the Department of Culture and Tourism to conduct a comprehensive review to prevent recurrence.

Netizens shared videos on the social platform Threads last night, questioning why "Haikyuu!!" was being shown on the cultural center's exterior wall, why it had simplified Chinese subtitles, and if it was pirated. Some netizens commented that the Keelung City Government was too outrageous and lacked copyright awareness.

The Keelung City Department of Culture and Tourism stated today that the "Summer Cinema" event will be held from July 4 to August 22, with a total of 8 screenings. Two of these will be shown in the performance hall of the Performing Arts Center, and six will be projected onto the exterior wall of the Cultural Center. The vendor, while testing lumen levels, audio, and network stability last night, selected a video from a streaming platform for on-demand testing. There were indeed questions regarding copyright. Public broadcast version videos will be used for future testing.

Keelung City Government Deputy Spokesperson Wu Yuchen stated that this incident was an operational oversight by the vendor during testing. The city government has requested the Department of Culture and Tourism to conduct a comprehensive review of outsourced management, operational procedures, and supervision mechanisms to prevent similar situations from happening again.
