(Central News Agency, reporter Zhao Minya, Taipei, June 30) The Digital Industry Development Administration (DIDA) of the Ministry of Digital Affairs stated today that regarding the case where the hacker group Settra claimed on the dark web to have stolen data from PChome's subsidiary Pi拍錢包 (Pi Wallet), DIDA is actively responding in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act and other regulations. An on-site administrative inspection will be conducted tomorrow to clarify the situation and continuously track any personal data leakage. If violations of the Personal Data Protection Act are found during the investigation, penalties will be imposed according to law.
Settra recently claimed to have infiltrated PChome's website and its subsidiary's payment system, obtaining internal data and user personal information. PChome stated that based on preliminary understanding, the content referred to in the dark web post is not directly related to the systems of PChome's parent company, and no intrusion into PChome's main site or core operating systems has been found. As for the content related to Pi拍錢包, it is still under further clarification.
Pi拍錢包 (Pi Wallet) stated that it has initiated cybersecurity response procedures, commissioned a third-party cybersecurity forensics agency for investigation, and reported to the competent authority in accordance with the law. After confirming the scope of impact, users will be proactively notified.

DIDA pointed out that the administrative inspection of Pi拍錢包 will clarify the situation, examine the operator's implementation of personal data protection, and continuously track the personal data leakage in this case. Strict supervision will be exercised over the operator's subsequent cybersecurity and management measures. If violations of the Personal Data Protection Act are found during the investigation, penalties will be imposed according to law.
DIDA reminds users that leaked personal data is easily exploited by scam groups. Users of Pi拍錢包 are urged to remain vigilant in the near future, actively verify any suspicious messages, avoid clicking on unknown websites, and not easily provide passwords, verification codes, or ID numbers to prevent fraud.
