(CNA, Penghu County, June 30) The Penghu International Maritime Fireworks Festival will feature a "Army Night" theme event tonight, organized by the Army Command Headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense. Earlier in the morning, the Army Band and Honor Guard held a flash mob performance at the Four Points by Sheraton, delighting a crowd of tourists.

The Penghu County Government has been organizing the Penghu International Maritime Fireworks Festival for 24 years. In previous years, most of the 33 sessions were hosted by the county government, township and city offices, the tourism industry, and corporations. This year, for the first time, the Army Command Headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense is taking charge of one of the main events, demonstrating the military's resilience in protecting the nation and safeguarding its beautiful homeland.

Tonight's "Army Night" at the Penghu International Maritime Fireworks Festival will feature performances by the Army Band and Honor Guard, who have traveled across the strait specifically for the event. This morning, they held a flash mob performance in front of the Penghu Sheraton Hotel, with many tourists happily remarking that seeing a military band and honor guard performance on the island of Penghu was "worth it." Major General Chen Chun-yuan, Commander of the Penghu Defense Command, and Political Warfare Director Chuang Pei-yi were present to offer encouragement.

The Penghu County Government stated that the Penghu Maritime Fireworks Festival, "Dragon Ball Z Penghu Summer Fireworks Festival," will be held every Tuesday evening starting June 30. Tonight's first session, planned with the Army Command Headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense as "Army Night," aims to showcase the military's regular rigorous training achievements and its spirit of safeguarding the nation through the fireworks festival platform. It also integrates Penghu's important military historical culture and tourism characteristics, allowing the public to gain a deeper understanding and support for the military while enjoying the spectacular performances, creating a distinctive event that combines tourism, culture, and national defense education for all.

Tonight's "Army Night" will include a 700-drone light show and a 600-second maritime fireworks display. The Army's "Town Guard" music concert segment will feature performances by the Army Band, Honor Guard, Amphibious Reconnaissance Battalion's Frogmen demonstration, and the Southern Two Singers, who will perform a number of classic songs. Together, they will witness the passion of "Army Night" and experience an unforgettable summer night interwoven with military-civilian cooperation, anime technology, and brilliant fireworks.
