Gus Technology Appoints Shen Guorong, President of Hota Industrial Mfg. Co., Ltd., as New Chairman

(CNA) - Lithium battery cell manufacturer Gus Technology held a board meeting today and approved the appointment of Shen Guorong, President of Hota Industrial Mfg. Co., Ltd. (Hota), as its new chairman, effective July 1.

Shen Guorong built Hota into Taiwan's largest supplier of automotive transmission components. Hota is also a well-known Tesla concept stock in Taiwan. In August 2025, Shen Guorong announced he would hand over the chairmanship of Hota to his daughter, Shen Qianci, and transition to President of Hota Industrial Mfg. Co., Ltd., stepping back to lead the group's new business investments.

Gus Technology stated in a press release today that Shen Guorong's appointment as chairman signifies Gus Technology's embrace of new industry resources and growth momentum. In the future, Gus Technology will maintain independent operations, with Shen Guorong leading a professional team to continue deepening its layout in next-generation battery cells, energy storage systems, and high-end power applications.

Shen Guorong said today that Gus Technology possesses a strong foundation in battery technology and product development capabilities. The global automotive supply chain resources accumulated by Hota Industrial Mfg. Co., Ltd. over the long term will have the opportunity to help Gus Technology expand into more application markets. In the future, he will collaborate with the original management team and major shareholders to promote Gus Technology's continuous strengthening of technological research and development, mass production capabilities, and international market connections, while maintaining the company's professionalism and independent operations.

Gus Technology stated that Hota Industrial Mfg. Co., Ltd. has been actively investing in emerging fields such as AI robotics, drones, and other unmanned vehicles in recent years, which highly aligns with Gus Technology's battery technology application direction. With the rapid growth of the new energy vehicle, AI data center backup power, UPS uninterruptible power supply systems, and energy storage markets, the importance of high-safety, high-power, and long-cycle-life battery technology continues to increase. Gus Technology will focus on R&D of LTO high-end battery cells and next-generation materials, and continue to promote product applications such as XNO and high-nickel ternary lithium batteries, expanding its technological layout in high-growth markets.
