(CNA, Taipei, June 30) -- The dark web hacking group Settra recently claimed to have infiltrated PChome Online Inc.'s web pages and its affiliated payment system, obtaining internal data and user personal information. PChome Online stated that preliminary investigations indicate the content referred to in the dark web post is not directly related to the parent company's systems, and no intrusion into PChome's main site or core operating systems has been found. Regarding Pi Pockat, further clarification is needed.

A post recently circulated on the dark web by the hacking group Settra claimed to have obtained a large volume of internal data from PChome and its payment system, including user data, transaction records, and internal documents, specifically naming services like Pi Pockat.

PChome Online responded to CNA today, stating that regarding the content of the externally circulated dark web post, preliminary investigations indicate that the referred content is not directly related to PChome Online Inc.'s parent company systems. Currently, no intrusion into PChome's main site or core operating systems has been discovered.

PChome Online also stated that Pi Pockat is an independently operated third-party payment service, and its information security and system management mechanisms are reviewed and audited by its operating team according to existing procedures. At this stage, related content still requires further clarification, and it is inconvenient to comment on unverified information.

Regarding whether Pi Pockat has initiated a cybersecurity incident investigation, PChome Online stated that as companies within the group operate independently, there is currently no further news from Pi Pockat.

It is worth noting that Bibian, PChome Online's cross-border e-commerce platform, experienced a customer personal data leak incident this month. Bibian announced on its official website at the time that it would provide affected members with two shopping coupons totaling 2,500 Japanese yen as compensation and notify affected members via email. The recent dark web message alleging a suspected hack of PChome and Pi Pockat has also drawn public attention to PChome Online's cybersecurity management. (Editor: Zhai Sijia) 1150630
