(CNA reporter Hsieh Yi-hsuan, Taipei, June 30) CPC Corporation, Taiwan announced today that in line with the government's price stabilization policy, natural gas prices for household users will not be increased in July 2026. Industrial users will also see no adjustment after comprehensive consideration of domestic prices and the overall economic situation, while prices for power generation users will be reduced by 4.72%.

CPC stated that in line with the government's price stabilization policy, natural gas prices for household users will not be increased in July 2026. CPC will absorb the costs to support household, commercial, and service sector users nationwide, thereby alleviating the burden on the public.

For industrial users, CPC has absorbed over NT$140 billion cumulatively from 2021 to May 2026. According to the formula, the adjustment gap has exceeded 50%. After comprehensive consideration of domestic prices and the overall economic situation, and a prudent assessment of industry's تحمل capacity, natural gas prices for industrial users will not be adjusted in July, with the unadjusted portion continuing to be absorbed by CPC.

Regarding power generation users, CPC indicated that the situation in the Middle East has eased, and international oil and gas prices have fallen, although progress in US-Iran negotiations remains to be seen. According to the natural gas price formula approved by the government, natural gas prices for power generation users will be reduced by 4.72% in July 2026.

CPC emphasized that it will continue to monitor the dynamics of the international oil and gas market and will conduct rolling reviews in accordance with the government's price stabilization policy. (Editor: Yang Kai-hsiang) 20260630
