(CNA, reporter Wu Jui-chi, Taoyuan, June 29) Democratic Progressive Party's Taoyuan mayoral candidate Huang Shih-chieh today unveiled his campaign's main visual identity and, alongside 26 party councilors and candidates, pledged to march towards victory. The first wave of his policy proposals stems from the daily living needs of citizens, and he will work with Taoyuan's district councilors to promote municipal reforms.

Huang Shih-chieh publicly presented the "Heart of Taoyuan, Let's Move" campaign visual this morning. He, along with 26 party councilors and candidates, took an oath to achieve victory. In his speech, Huang Shih-chieh stated that "Heart of Taoyuan, Let's Move" is more than just a slogan; it signifies both restarting Taoyuan and a "heartbeat." The main visual uses green and blue to represent Taoyuan's coastal beauty, and pink-orange to symbolize warm sunshine and sincerity, hoping to convey Taoyuan's youthful vitality at first glance.

Huang Shih-chieh pointed out that he will work with Taoyuan's district councilors to promote reforms. The first wave of his policy proposals originates from citizens' daily living needs, including planning a comprehensive route network for city-operated buses to resolve issues of missed departures and reduced services; enhancing elder card points and expanding their usage; subsidizing health insurance premiums for children aged 0-12 and seniors over 65; and increasing public childcare capacity by establishing a public childcare map to alleviate the burden on young families.

In a media interview, when asked about media reports regarding controversy over the central government's extension of the review period for Taoyuan City's affordable housing policy, Huang Shih-chieh said he has never opposed the concept of affordable housing policies. "We cannot resort to smear tactics and political attacks every time a public issue is discussed," he stated, adding that there are still shortcomings. Through discussion, future homeownership rights can be protected. "Affordable housing should not become propaganda housing." He urged the city government to provide clear explanations to avoid accusations of obstruction or blocking whenever the central government raises issues from a professional review perspective, which he deems very unfair.

Regarding a high school photo that sparked online discussion, Huang Shih-chieh expressed gratitude for the attention. He explained that it was shared incidentally during a conversation with young friends and he is happy to engage with them in this way, hoping they will offer more policy suggestions. The effect has been good, and he will continue to discuss issues with young people to ensure policy planning and execution better meet public needs. (Editor: Chang Ming-kun) 1150629
