(CNA Taipei, June 29) Two Major League Baseball (MLB) Taiwanese position players experienced extra innings today. In the bottom of the 10th, Red Sox's Chao-Tsung Cheng hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game, ultimately winning 5-4 and completing a four-game sweep of the Yankees. Tigers' Hao-Yu Lee reached base on a walk.

In today's game between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees, the Yankees made an error in the bottom of the 4th, giving the Red Sox an opportunity. The Red Sox scored 2 runs on an RBI hit by Caleb Durbin. However, in the top of the 9th, the Red Sox also committed an error, allowing a run. With a runner on third, Cheng, playing shortstop, fielded a high-bouncing ground ball and threw to home plate, but it was too late to prevent the Yankees from scoring the tying run.

In his first 2 at-bats, he grounded out in the bottom of the 2nd and flew out in the bottom of the 4th. In the bottom of the 6th, he patiently drew a walk but was subsequently caught stealing. In the bottom of the 9th, he struck out, and in the bottom of the 10th, he grounded out.

The Tigers were tied 3-3 after 9 innings, but allowed 4 runs in the top of the 10th. Their comeback attempt in the bottom of the 10th fell short, and they lost 5-7. Lee went 0-for-4 with 1 strikeout and 1 walk, ending his streak of 6 consecutive games with a hit (including one game where he played defense). His batting average is now .252.
