Chiu Wen-yu happily repays mother's hard work, hopes to connect with Tseng Tzu-yu

(Central News Agency, Taipei, June 29) Chiu Wen-yu, a promising player graduating from Pingjen High School, was selected in the first round of the draft by the TSG Hawks. His senior, Tseng Tzu-yu, looks forward to forming a "Shuang You" connection. Chiu Wen-yu's mother was present to witness the event, and Chiu Wen-yu expressed his happiness at finally being able to repay his mother's hard work.

The Hawks selected second baseman Chiu Wen-yu, a graduate of Pingjen High School, in the first round of this year's draft. Chiu Wen-yu previously mentioned in an interview that his father passed away suddenly when he was in the second year of junior high school, and his mother bore the sole economic pressure of raising four children. Therefore, he hopes to enter professional baseball to help improve his family's environment.

At the draft today, Chiu Wen-yu's mother and sister were present to witness the event. Chiu Wen-yu said he was very moved and happy to be selected, and could finally successfully repay his mother's hard work. He also mentioned his mother's request: she hopes he can happily do what he likes. "My mother said that seeing me happy makes her happy."

Chiu Wen-yu also revealed that before the draft, his mother asked him what would happen if he cried at the draft. "I told my mother, don't cry, just tear up."

Chiu Wen-yu stated that after deciding to challenge the CPBL draft, he consulted with familiar seniors on various professional teams to understand each team's training and environment. He learned that the TSG Hawks' training is very solid and that their head coach, Hung Yi-chung, takes every player very seriously.

Chiu Wen-yu is confident that he is accustomed to high-intensity training and high-stakes games since high school. The Hawks also have a senior from Pingjen, Tseng Tzu-yu.
