(CNA Taipei, June 29) The Ministry of Finance announced today that for the July-December 2024 period, the number of 500 NTD prize sets exclusively for cloud invoices could increase to between 4.05 and 4.25 million sets per period, surpassing 4 million sets for the first time. The actual plan is expected to be announced by the end of September. Additionally, the Uniform Invoice Prize-Redemption App will be available for update starting at 6:00 AM on July 1.

The Ministry of Finance held a press conference today for the optimization and update of the Uniform Invoice Prize-Redemption App. Zhang Wen-hsi, Director of the Information Center, stated that as of June 15, the national cloud invoice usage rate reached 67%. Since its launch on January 1, 2019, the Uniform Invoice Prize-Redemption App has been downloaded over 8 million times.

Zhang Wen-hsi explained that considering the app has not had a major update in 8 years, and to create a more convenient cloud invoice usage environment and implement the paperless invoice policy, this update will focus on providing fast and stable services. The interface has been redesigned according to user habits, and new features include bilingual interface, automatic remittance setting for prize money, prize redemption reminders, biometric and pattern unlock login, quick donation, carbon reduction passbook, and consumption analysis services.

The Ministry of Finance stated that the Prize-Redemption App will be available for update starting at 6:00 AM on July 1. Users can set up automatic remittance accounts for cloud invoice prize winnings, and prize money will be automatically deposited into the designated financial account each period, saving the time and the 0.4% stamp tax for manual redemption. For those who have not set up a redemption account and have not printed the electronic invoice proof, they can also use the Prize-Redemption App to redeem their winnings.

The Ministry of Finance reminds the public that for a comprehensive upgrade and renovation, the Prize-Redemption App will be temporarily unavailable from 00:00 AM to 6:00 AM on July 1. Physical prize redemption points for uniform invoices will also be temporarily unavailable from 00:00 AM to 2:00 AM on July 1. Service suspension information has been announced on the Prize-Redemption App.

Furthermore, a Ministry of Finance official explained that for the January-June 2024 period, the 500 NTD prize sets for cloud invoices have already been increased by 700,000 sets, raising the number of prize sets from 3.15 million to 3.85 million. Subsequently, considering the results of the overall budget review and the prize redemption situation in the first half of the year, the number of exclusive cloud invoice prize sets for the second half of the year will be increased by an additional 200,000 to 400,000 sets, bringing the total number of prize sets to 4.05 to 4.25 million. The actual plan is expected to be announced before the July-August uniform invoice drawing at the end of September. (Editor: Yang Kai-hsiang) 1150629
