(Central News Agency, reporter Wu Zhehao, Changhua, June 29) A fire broke out today at the well-known Qingfeng Steakhouse in Changhua City. The fire department responded with more than 10 fire trucks to extinguish the blaze. Fortunately, there were no casualties. Firefighters pointed out that the fire is suspected to have been caused by oil accumulation in the restaurant's exhaust pipe, which ignited when the gas stove was turned on for business.
The Changhua County Fire Department issued a statement saying that a fire occurred around 9:16 AM at the Qingfeng Steakhouse located at Section 1, Nanguo Road, Changhua City, Changhua County. The fire department dispatched 11 fire trucks, 1 ambulance, and 22 firefighters to the scene. The fire was extinguished approximately 30 minutes later.
The fire department stated that upon arrival, firefighters observed significant smoke and flames, but no one was injured or trapped. The fire department indicated that the point of origin was the exhaust pipe, possibly due to accumulated grease. The fire is believed to have started when the gas stove was turned on for business, igniting the grease in the pipe. However, the detailed cause of the fire is still under investigation.
