Central News Agency (CNA) report, Taipei, June 26: The Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) announced that train services across most lines have returned to normal, with the exception of the Neiwan line between Zhuzhong and Zhudong, which remains suspended due to slope instability and rockfalls. Meanwhile, the Pingxi line between Ruifang and Jingtong resumed service at 2:00 PM as rainfall intensity subsided.
Due to adverse weather, train services were disrupted earlier today. The TRA stated that beginning at 8:15 AM, continuous rainfall caused rockfalls on the Neiwan line between Shangyuan and Ronghua (at the K11+800 to K12+120 mark). Consequently, services between Zhuzhong and Zhudong were suspended, and highway shuttle services were activated to assist passengers.
Regarding the Pingxi line, the section between Ruifang and Jingtong had been closed as a precautionary measure earlier today due to rainfall exceeding safety thresholds. With the improvement of weather conditions and track inspections showing no anomalies, the TRA resumed operations starting with train No. 4826 (departing Ruifang at 2:00 PM) and train No. 4825 (departing Shifen at 2:40 PM). Highway shuttle services for this section have been canceled.
The TRA confirmed that excluding the Neiwan line, all other services are operating as scheduled. Passengers are advised to check the official TRA website, the "TRA e-booking" mobile app, or contact the 24-hour service hotline at (02) 2191-0096 or 0800-765-888 before traveling. Information is also available at local stations.
