CWA Issues Heavy Rain Advisory for Central and Southern Taiwan

The Central Weather Administration (CWA) has issued a heavy rain advisory for several counties and cities across Taiwan as of June 27. Affected by a weather front and southwesterly winds, the region is experiencing short-duration, intense rainfall.

Today, local heavy rain or torrential rain is expected in Nantou County, Taichung City, Changhua County, Yunlin County, Chiayi County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, and Pingtung County. Meanwhile, areas from Miaoli County northward, as well as the eastern region and Penghu, face a high probability of localized heavy rain.

The public is advised to remain vigilant against lightning strikes and strong gusts. Residents in low-lying areas should take precautions against potential flooding, while those in mountainous regions are urged to monitor for risks including landslides, rockfalls, debris flows, and sudden rises in river water levels.
