On the evening of June 26, a 70-year-old woman identified as a Ms. Shih caused a disturbance at the HSR Zuoying Station. According to the Kaohsiung Branch of the Railway Police Bureau, the woman was observed waving a pair of electrician’s pliers and shouting at passengers in the second-floor concourse around 7:00 PM, causing public alarm.

Police arrived at the scene and escorted the individual to the station office for questioning. Following an on-site evaluation by emergency medical personnel, she was placed under involuntary psychiatric hold and transported to a medical facility. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported, and no formal complaints have been filed by the public thus far. However, police are reviewing surveillance footage to determine the exact circumstances of the event. The case will be referred to the Ciao-tou District Prosecutors Office for investigation on charges of violating Article 151 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to the public threat of danger.
