Central News Agency (CNA) reported on June 26th that the Agency of Rural Development and Soil and Water Conservation (ARD SWC) has issued red alerts for 61 debris flow potential streams and yellow alerts for 32, following heavy rainfall across Taiwan. Additionally, three large-scale landslide alerts have been issued, all affecting Kaohsiung City and Pingtung County.

According to the ARD SWC, the 61 red-alert streams are distributed across 10 townships and 26 villages in Kaohsiung and Pingtung, while the 32 yellow-alert streams span 5 townships and 11 villages in the same areas.

Regarding large-scale landslides, one red alert was issued for Laiyi Village, Laiyi Township, Pingtung County. Two yellow alerts were issued for Xinglong and Xinfa neighborhoods in the Liugui District of Kaohsiung City.

The ARD SWC emphasized that local governments are required to advise or mandate evacuations for areas under red alerts and provide appropriate relocation assistance. For areas under yellow alerts, local authorities should conduct evacuation advisories to ensure public safety.
