The Miaoli County Government announced the completion of restoration work on the 'Liu En-Kuan Traditional House,' a historical building in Sihu Township dating back to 1760. The project, funded with a total budget of NT$21 million supported by the Ministry of Culture, lasted nearly two years and focused on preserving traditional craftsmanship.

The restoration involved expert artisans in woodwork, tile work, and masonry, ensuring that the integrity of the original Hakka architecture was maintained. The building, designated as a historic site in 2014, features a blend of Zhangzhou-style ridges and Quanzhou-style eaves. Key elements such as the ancestral hall, traditional courtyards, and ancestral shrines have been restored to their original state.

Local authorities indicated that the site will reopen to the public, serving as a landmark for cultural heritage and education. The project intends to integrate the ancestral home into local tourism routes, promoting the Hakka cultural identity of the region.
