(Central News Agency, Washington, 22nd –综合 international news) Officials from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand stated today that cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) technologies will significantly upgrade cyberattack capabilities, necessitating urgent actions to address this threat.

According to a Reuters report, the Five Eyes intelligence-sharing network—made up of these five countries—issued a three-page statement saying: 'Frontier AI models are expected to surpass existing industry expectations and fundamentally alter cyber capabilities on both offensive and defensive fronts. The timeline is not measured in years, but in months.'

The statement is brief and primarily reiterates basic cybersecurity recommendations, such as promptly patching vulnerable software and avoiding unnecessary network connections. Officials also urged defenders to use AI to 'strengthen defense,' for example, by detecting vulnerabilities earlier or responding faster to security incidents.

This warning reflects growing concerns among officials about AI systems such as Anthropic's latest AI model Mythos and OpenAI's GPT-5.5-Cyber. These models reportedly enable users to rapidly execute complex and potentially highly damaging hacking attacks.

Earlier this month, due to national security concerns, the U.S. government ordered Anthropic to restrict foreign access to Mythos, forcing the company to deactivate one version of the model. Around the same time, the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) cited AI threats and shortened the deadline for government agencies to patch critical security vulnerabilities to just three days.
