Russian-installed head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, reported that a Ukrainian drone strike on the Crimean Peninsula resulted in 4 deaths and 28 injuries. Additionally, authorities in Russia's Krasnodar region confirmed 1 fatality following a separate strike.
According to reports, Ukraine has intensified its use of drones against Crimea, which hosts the Russian Black Sea Fleet. These strikes specifically target logistics and supply chains, leading to fuel shortages across the peninsula at the onset of the peak tourism season. Aksyonov stated that fuel sales to the public and private enterprises have been suspended, with remaining supplies reserved for essential government services and security operations.
Local power grid operators reported outages due to infrastructure damage, and ferry services across the Kerch Strait, connecting Crimea to the Krasnodar region, were temporarily suspended. Krasnodar officials noted that a drone strike hit an oil terminal, causing a fire and resulting in the death of a ferry passenger. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has acknowledged the reports of these operations.
