Taipei, June 20 (CNA) — Taoyuan Taipower Leopards guard Kao Chin-Wei, the newly crowned MVP of the Taiwan Professional Basketball League (TPBL), attended a charity event today. During the session, he encouraged children to pursue their dreams while emphasizing that focusing on the journey is more important than being fixated on the results.

Kao recorded a strong season with averages of 14.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.9 assists. Beyond his individual accolades, including MVP and being named to the All-TPBL First Team, Kao shared his personal journey from playing for fun in his youth to competing professionally. He reflected on a challenging period in college when a poor performance led him to consider quitting, but he ultimately realized that his anxiety over winning was hindering his progress.

"The most beautiful things often happen during the process of your efforts," Kao noted. He credited his recent success to a change in mindset, focusing on incremental growth rather than just the outcome.

The event was hosted by the iEAT (饗賓) Group, which announced plans to expand its CSR activities. The group intends to increase the number of beneficiaries of its charity meal programs from 1,500 to 4,000 children this year, including new initiatives for rural areas and a Christmas charity banquet. CEO Chen Yi-hang also announced that 'Eat Together' (饗食天堂) will open its 13th branch in Chiayi by the end of the year, while the brand 'AISHI' (旭集) is set to launch in Taichung on July 9.
