Mr. CaNoe TAIWAN Wins NT$600,000 at New Taipei City Speaker's Cup Dragon Boat Championship

The 16th New Taipei City Speaker's Cup Dragon Boat Championship concluded this afternoon. According to the City Council, following two days of competition, the team 'Mr. CaNoe TAIWAN' secured the championship in the large dragon boat men's category, winning a grand prize of NT$600,000.

The final heat featured four teams: Nanji Frozen, Xinzhuang Industrial Bear Eagle, Mr. CaNoe TAIWAN, and Guanglin Engineering. Mr. CaNoe TAIWAN claimed victory with a time of 2:05.2, while Guanglin Engineering finished as the runner-up with a margin of less than one second.

In other categories, the Taipei Xia-Hai City God Temple won the large dragon boat women's division with a time of 2:26.7, receiving NT$200,000. The Amis Youth team took the mixed category title in 2:14.4, also winning NT$200,000. Aletheia University and the Taiwan Leopard team topped their respective small dragon boat categories.

Spectators noted that the event, accompanied by riverside light and music shows, has become a highly anticipated annual tradition in New Taipei City. Deputy Speaker Chen Hong-yuan presided over the awards ceremony, thanking the participants and expressing hopes for next year's event.
