The Wei Chuan Dragons clinched the 2024 Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) first-half championship on June 20th at Chengcing Lake Baseball Stadium, defeating the TSG Hawks 4-0. This victory marks the franchise's sixth league title and its second since returning to the league.

Starting pitcher Drew Gagnon delivered a masterful performance, throwing 108 pitches over eight scoreless innings while recording a career-high-tying 13 strikeouts without issuing a single walk. His performance lowered his season ERA to 1.92.

The offense broke the scoreless tie in the top of the eighth inning. With two outs and a runner on first, Liu Chi-hung hit an RBI double, followed by an RBI single from Chu Yu-hsien. After loading the bases, Wang Shun-ho contributed an infield single to extend the lead to 3-0. Liu Chi-hung added another insurance run in the ninth with his second RBI hit of the game.

By securing this title, the Dragons have successfully punched their ticket to the postseason for the second consecutive year.
