Taipei, June 20 (CNA) — Wen Wen, a member of the CTBC Brothers Passion Sisters cheerleading squad, was attacked by a man armed with a knife during a private photo shoot today. The team and her management agency issued a statement confirming that she has undergone surgery and is currently out of immediate danger. The team has also implemented a temporary ban on members participating in private activities.

According to the Taipei City Police Department’s Datong Precinct, officers were dispatched to a private residence near Section 3 of Chongqing North Road this afternoon following reports of a man suffering a mental breakdown. Upon arrival, it was discovered that a male photographer had attacked a female model at a photo studio, causing a 5-centimeter laceration. He was subsequently subdued by other photographers on the scene.

In a joint statement, the CTBC Brothers and her management agency stated, "Based on the professional assessment of the medical team, Wen Wen is not in life-threatening condition, and her surgery has been completed successfully."

The statement further noted that the case is now under judicial investigation. The team and management are cooperating fully with authorities and assisting those affected. Officials emphasized that regardless of the circumstances, violence and threats against others are unacceptable. To ensure the safety of all performers, the team will increase security presence at home games and suspend all private external engagements for the cheerleaders. They also requested that the public respect the privacy of those involved and refrain from spreading unverified information.

Police reported that the victims, including the model (who sustained a neck injury) and three photographers (who suffered cuts to their limbs), were transported to the hospital. A suspect in his 50s was arrested and transferred to the Shilin District Prosecutors Office for further legal proceedings.
