Taipei, June 20 (CNA) — Actor Chen Ya-lan has officially concluded her tenure as host of the long-running variety program 'Fate Fun.' She recently returned to the studio alongside Wang Tsai-hua and Kaiser Chuang to promote an upcoming Taiwanese opera stage play. Addressing the changes to the show’s format, Chen expressed her full support, noting that such transitions are necessary to keep pace with evolving media trends.

'Fate Fun' has undergone a significant revision, shifting to a one-hour format hosted by Lai Yen-fong (Lai) of the boy band WOLF(S) and feng shui master Tang Chen-wei. During the filming session, Chen emphasized the value of the program's intellectual property (IP), stating, 'Maintaining an IP for over two decades is a challenging endeavor. The brand has significant legacy, and this transition represents a necessary generational shift to keep the program relevant.'

Regarding the transition, new host Lai noted that his previous collaborations with Chen made the handover process professional and comfortable. Chen added a lighthearted note, joking about the shift in dynamics, noting that while she previously managed the flow as host, the team is now adjusting to the new leadership. She concluded by offering professional advice to the new hosts, reminding them that they must continue to refine their craft to remain competitive in a rapidly changing industry.
