According to reports from Central News Agency on June 19, conflicting information has emerged regarding the status of Chinese group tours to Japan. While Japanese media outlets, including Nippon TV, reported that Chinese state-owned travel agencies were resuming group travel packages—citing active recruitment for 7-day trips to Tokyo and Osaka—the situation remains volatile.

Singapore-based Lianhe Zaobao observed that the official website of "CTS Travel," a subsidiary of the state-owned China Tourism Group, abruptly removed related tour packages on the same day. This discrepancy underscores the unpredictable nature of the market, which remains sensitive to political directives.

Since November 2025, following comments by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi regarding "contingencies in Taiwan," the Chinese government has reportedly imposed restrictions on travel to Japan, limiting group tour volume to 60% of previous levels. The recent removal of products by state-affiliated agencies suggests that political constraints continue to overshadow commercial recovery efforts.
